Somewhere between WEIRD and Hoedown at Matilda's, the
BENTONITES shortened their name, lost a sax player, and got turned on to country music. Not the boring kind you
hear on the radio in the south, but rather a unique blend of country punk two-steps and straightahead country
rockers all with the offbeat lyrics fans had come to expect from the BENTONITES.
Hoedown at Matilda's was recorded and mixed in May 1993 at the now-defunct Dome Sound in Royersford, PA (formerly Iris Sound), by Paul Brown.
Available on high-quality cassette.
